My name is Robert Nock and I specialise in providing counselling services for Deaf clients and their families in both English and Auslan in the Sydney area.  I hold a graduate degree in Social Work from the University of Sydney. I was previously employed as the School Counsellor for Thomas Pattison School, North Rocks (Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children). At the school I worked with signing Deaf children, their families as well as teachers. I spend most of my time now working in private practice, seeing Deaf and Hearing Impaired people. I previously worked as a family support worker for Waverley Council and currently work as a consultant social worker for Prince of Wales Private Hospital.

Growing up a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) provides me with an in-depth understanding of the lives of Deaf people and their families. I am also a professional NAATI interpreter working with clients in a variety of settings. Furthermore, I provide training in Deafness Awareness to a number of organisations.

My counselling practice includes working with adults and children on a wide variety of issues such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Communication
  • Depression
  • Relationship issues
  • Self-esteem

I provide counselling to individuals, couples and families.

How can you access my services?

I provide bulk bill counselling for Deaf clients and their families in both English and Auslan in Sydney. The service is covered by, so you won’t be out of pocket. To access this service you need to get a referral and a care plan from a GP to see Robert Nock (Mental Health Social Worker).
